There are so many pictures from this session that I love that it was impossible for me to chose what to post! This family entire family had pregnancy glow, not just the mama! We were having so much fun taking family shots that we almost forgot to do the belly close-ups! So after a quick change of clothes, Bonnie had the idea to take some fun belly pics at the end so we did the “sweet heart” and “about to pop” which had us all laughing. I can’t wait to meet this little one!
Andrea is an actress and social media consultant and was in need of some new head shots. Shooting an adult alone is always a joy, they know what they want and can take direction. We started off with some softer pictures and then changed make-up and lighting for a more sultry look. I highly recommend going with a professional make-up artist like Andrea did when shooting close-ups or head shots. Her make-up artist Jill did a wonderful job emphasizing her natural beauty!
Lately I have been lamenting the fact that I don’t have a great “professional looking” shot of my kids. I think they both have a case of PCS (photographer’s child syndrome) and either run away or give me cheesy fake smiles whenever the camera comes out. I realized that just as important as getting that beautiful frame-able shot, are the ones that capture the everyday. My babies are growing up fast and I don’t want to forget any of the little details. Like how Mia’s hair goes crazy after her nap…
Or how she still sleeps in a sleep sack at 2 1/2 (or how cute she looks in it)
Or her cute little puffy post-nap face and all her “friends” that she loves to snuggle and sleep with.
Or even the little baby books that make her smile and giggle. These are the moments I want to keep forever.

Crying, these are amazing. All I want is for them to be big and able to help themselves to meals, and then I want them to freeze in time!
You captured that so perfectly here. -

Oh my gosh the sleep sack – i almost died!!! BAHAHAHAH!!! That’s so cute! I’d throw Livia in a sleep sack if she’d let me… both for the cuteness AND the containment factor – lol! Your blog is GORGEOUS. I can’t believe what a talented photographer you’ve become! Wow… kinda makes me think my silly little pics are a bit BLAH.
It’s funny…. I always wonder how my photos would be if I had the right subject matter (ie: cooperative people). You are doing an outstanding job!! xo

these are sooo sweet.
A few months ago the incredible style and family blog Coconut and Bean was launched. If you haven’t had a chance to get over there and check it out you are missing out. Piper has an effortless style and always looks amazing regardless of what parenting battle she is facing. I’ve had the honor of getting to work with Piper on the photos for her Outfit Recipes series. We have had a blast scouting locations and she is a wonderful model for me to practice lighting and other photography tricks on. Here are two favorites from our most recent sessions together. Check out the links for more (and for some awesome outfit advice!)

Love these. The light, the model, the outfits = Awesome!
I don’t know where the last 5 years went or how Nate has grown up so much in that time.
He’s a lucky boy to have so many wonderful friends and an incredible family who loves him. As always around here, birthdays end up with multiple celebrations. The big one was a day in Newport with family, riding the ferris wheel, playing games, eating giant snow cones, opening awesome gifts and of course finishing the day off with a fabulous cake.
After donuts at school and a huge piece of cake with singing at our local breakfast joint, the final celebration was at Chuck E Cheese with friends.
We’re so proud of you Nate, you’ve come a long way this year and are such a little man now!
