Hello friends! It’s been ages since I’ve been around here! I had yet another hard drive crash (please take a lesson from me and back up everything more than once!) and a crazy month of October filled with field trips, Halloween events and my girl turning 3. Since then it’s been a whirlwind of family photo sessions for the holiday season. I thought I’d share this precious cutie while I’m wrapping up my family session editing… it’s smiles like these that make the craziness all worth it!

Piper - Are you kidding me!?!?!?!?! This is amazing, I love everything about it.ReplyCancel

Remember this beautiful mama? She had her little one and I had the pleasure of spending the morning with the family and capturing some sweet moments between them. These first few days with a brand new baby are so special, it feels like such an honor to be invited in to witness it.

I know I’m normally an all color girl but indoor sessions often lend themselves beautifully to black and whites so I thought I would try my hand at it. I think the first one is my very favorite. Is there anything sweeter than the love of a sister?

Karli - UMMM. (mouth gaping open)

Friend…. every time I visit your blog I am just more and more blow away! Holy smokes! Your photography is STUNNING. I have always enjoyed your work… loved your processing…. but this is a whole new level. (aaaand now feeling a bit crummy about my own progression, or LACK of…..)

This is insane! You are truly truly gifted and I’m so proud of you!! Beautiful work!!! xoxoReplyCancel

I love getting together with Piper to shoot pictures for her awesome family and style blog Coconut and Bean. It gives me an opportunity to explore new locations and play with lighting in a stress free way and she ends up with what she needs to share her amazing sense of style, two birds with one stone or so the saying goes. I think this shoot might be my favorite we’ve done yet, this new location positively glowed, I can barely wait for the family shoot I have booked there!

Piper - Seriously gorgeous-we were swimming in sunshine. That day was the best.ReplyCancel

The hardest part about shooting families for the holidays is keeping the photos a secret! I know lots of people hire photographers to get that perfect holiday card so I am trying not to share anyone’s pictures without their approval. This adorable family of 3 put these up on Facebook so I’m following suit and sharing. 🙂 Here are just a few from our session.

Colette - Ha!! But we haven’t revealed our Xmas photo so it’s all good! XoxoReplyCancel

Summer came and went in a blur this year.  It seemed to arrive late and now doesn’t want to give up and go away. Despite the Halloween decorations already up, the temps are lingering in the 100s. With school in full swing, we are missing the carefree days of water play, popsicles and especially this awesome water park!
