My friend Piper has recently started a lifestyle and family blog called Coconut and Bean. We set out together to get some shots for her site and found ourselves in a crazy windstorm. You’ll have to check out her beautiful blog to see more pictures but this was one of my favorites from the day.

    Liesl - Gorgeous!!ReplyCancel

My son’s school held a Father/Daughter Dance a few weeks ago and I volunteered to take the pictures. It was a huge learning experience for me since it was held at night and needed lighting set up. Up to that point, all my photography experience had been using available, natural light. Lucky for me, I have a friend who has lots of experience with lighting and he helped me get what we needed and get it all set up. He even lent me his awesome lens to shoot with. So thank you B for all your help! (My helper and his sweet daughter pictured below) I can’t wait until Mia is old enough to attend this adorable event, it was a magical night for everyone!

This cutie stole the show during her family shoot with her adorable outfit and perfect poses. When her mama asked her what her dress looked like she grinned and said in her tiny little voice “Coco Chanel!” So cute! She’s definitely a little fashionista in the making!

I never realized how important it is to carefully choose where you print your photos. Not all print shops are alike it turns out! Walmart and Costco print for really cheap but is the quality worth the extra cents you are saving? Look at this…

Agck! Super scary, right? Since I don’t use Walmart for prints, I borrowed this image from photographer Mandy Chiappini. She takes such beautiful, vibrant pictures and it would be such a shame to have them turn out dark and muddy like the Walmart version!

I have found two places that are easy to use and affordable but still print high quality.  Try using one of the following for your special prints and see if it makes a difference!

Kodak Pro Matte http://www.kodakgallery.com
MPix http://www.mpix.com
