I saw this challenge on on my favorite blogs Ramblings and Photos by Ashley Sisk and thought it would be fun to enter. The goal is to pick your 5 favorite pictures of your children from Jan – March and say why you picked them. I had a really hard time picking as you will see! Here they are in no order…

Normally I am not big on haze but I just love this one of the sun setting over Nate looking contemplative. The middle one was a big deal for me, getting both my kids in one shot looking good… that’s a huge accomplishment! And the last is Mia in her favorite back-pack. Love how happy she looks with her big smile and the wind in her hair! (BTW you won’t believe how tiny that back-pack is in real life!)

Need I explain these? Snow White in all her glory? Even a Princess isn’t always happy.

These last two just show off my kids beautiful eyes and smiles. It’s hard to get a big smile like that from Nate so I just love it! And it’s so perfect for who he is right now, he is scootering, skateboarding and bike-riding all day long.

Now even those of you who are mathematically challenged like me probably can tell that I put in more than five but I just couldn’t decide. Hey, it’s my blog, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Meet Wesley. He’s baby #4 to proud mama Kari. I had the privilege of being at the hospital when his siblings came in to meet him…there aren’t really words to describe such a special moment. I was thrilled to witness and capture it.PINIMAGEPINIMAGE

This beautiful family is going to be moving to a new house soon and were feeling a bit sad about leaving behind a place with so many memories. We thought it would be special to take some photos there for them to remember that first home. I can’t wait to check out the new place and take some more pictures there! (that’s a hint A!)

I know my close friends and family have seen these pictures so I apologize for the repeat but I think they are super special being as they were my very first “photo shoot” ever! It’s pretty hard to take a bad pic with a group as good looking as this but I was pretty happy with how they turned out. I can’t wait to do another session with them and see how much I’ve learned!

I thought a trip to Disneyland would result in hundreds of awesome photo ops…instead I found it exhausting lugging around my heavy camera and trying to wrestle it from my bag repeatedly. And trying to shoot in close quarters on rides was hard but ended up resulting in two of my favorite pictures of my kids of late. Sometimes changing your angle or perspective can pay off. I love the last two photos below.

Despite not getting perfect pictures, we had a blast. The kids were mesmerized by the parade and we rode Small World twice. Toon Town proved to be a favorite and the kids didn’t want to leave. I ran into an old friend and also a guest from the engagement party I had shot the morning before…I guess it really is a small world after all!PINIMAGE
