Every once in a while, you have a shoot where everything seems to come together…beautiful location, adorable and sweet family and perfect lighting. This was one of those for me, I loved every minute of working with this amazing family! HERE‘s a few others from this shoot in case you missed them!
I recently signed up for a 4 week critique with one of my favorite photographers, Wendy Whitacre of BlueLily and have learned SO much. It’s only week 2 but I’ve learned all kinds of new photoshop tips and about color balance which is so important in producing great pictures. Here’s a quick before and after based on her comments. What do you think?
HERE is info on their next in person workshop. I took this in January and it was incredible!
HERE is info on Chic Critique, you can sign up for a 4 week critique with a “celebrity” photog of your choice!

You have come so far. Love the after. I was just thinking today that I really need to take a new class or do some sort of educational training!
I love your new site! Get it girl!
This beauty has a very special birthday this week! What could be better than capturing this incredible time in her life with some special pictures? I had an absolute blast taking these… this girl is as sweet on the inside as she is beautiful on the outside. Her little brother even jumped in for a few, he’s a cutie too! Happy birthday C!

Seriously Ashley! Beautiful photo’s!!! The birthday girl is gorgeous too.
Turns out that finding pretty locations to shoot at is not that easy! I’ve been dragging the kids all over town to parks, trails, and fields, even once stopping and knocking on someone’s door to ask if we could shoot on their property (we were told no btw). So far we’ve noted a few neat places but were recently told rattlesnakes like to hang out there as well. Yikes! Here’s a few shots from a fun scouting excursion.

Sometimes I feel the same way about finding new places to shoot. I don’t think I would have the nerve to knock on a strangers door. Too bad they were meanies.

Great pictures! Love the bottom middle one – Look at the sheer glee in your daughters face! Awww!
I have driven by so many places thinking “Wow, I need to stop there and take some pictures” – but it’s someone’s property usually…. I have to work up the nerve to ask for permission still ๐
