I’m pretty sure everyone in the free world is getting sick of me and my camera. The littlest of these two was no exception, she wanted nothing to do with me! Luckily big sis knows how to work the camera. They both totally stole my heart and we even did a 2nd shoot to try to get the family together. More of that to come later. In the meantime, enjoy the sweetness of these two!
When taking family pictures, sometimes it’s fun to think outside the box. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins all make really special pictures! This session started out with Kathy and her adorable daughter Leialoha and ended with their cousins joining us. I’m pretty sure these mamas are going to treasure the memories of their little girls together.

So sweet. I really love the first one. Very happy!
Last week we headed to Santa Monica for a day at the pier, enjoying rides, snacks and all the crazy performers. I have lots of fun pictures from this day and will be sharing soon but I couldn’t hold off on posting these. This little girl is certainly not lacking in personality!

She’s adorable and getting so big!
The other day I posted about a dreamy session, with perfect light, where it all came together with ease. Well this one I’m sharing today was not like that. Ha! Carrie if you are reading this, you know I love you girl! But we were dealing with some harsh lighting and the kids really wanted nothing to do with having their pictures taken (quite possibly the dad too). Here’s a tip, when dealing with toddlers, shoot somewhere where you can just chase them around, not try to maneuver them into a spot with decent lighting! Despite the challenges, we got some super cute pictures that I really like! Mom also asked for some different editing than I usually do, we went with a slightly more vintage feel which was fun to play with. Thanks for challenging and putting me to the test G family!
If you haven’t noticed yet, I LOVE color. Especially in photography. You will rarely see me convert a photo to black and white and I don’t often do hazy editing, instead I choose deep, bright and rich tones. For a color junky like myself, this little bouquet from my hubby was a dream come true. It’s fun to break out the macro lens every now and then too!
